Stress and College Students

A difficult issue to tackle today is that of stress and college students. It goes without question that college students experience high levels of stress on a daily basis, with academic pressures, financial pressures and the additional stress of being away from home for an extended period of time for the first time.

However, there are a few tips tips that I can give for stress and college students.

1. The first is to personalize your space. Maybe this is a desk in your dorm room, or if you work in a library or some common area, make sure that you bring something with you that is your own, and that makes you feel comfortable. Being comfortable, and in particular, feeling like you are at home can go a long way when dealing with stress.

2. Exercise. On aspect of stress and college students that is often overlooked is the fact that, as college students, you most likely have access to a physical training facility of some kind. My advice is to make use of this resouce. Physical exercise is a great way of reducing stress. Remember that your ability to cope and deal with stress is influenced by your personal health and wellness.

3. Make sure that you are manageing your time effectively. There are many resources available to you as a college student that can help you to discover if you are manageing your time effectively and, if not, how to go about doing just that. I urge you to check those resources out if you are having stress management issues.

These are just some of the techniques that can be used for stress and college students. If you are having a lot of difficulties dealing with your schooling and life, then make sure that you seek help. Otherwise, just remember that you are the master and commander of your existence, whether at the college or not, so it is up to you to change your perspective and make your experiences positive.
